Stronger After Baby
728 NE Dekum St.
Portland OR, 97211
This class is a skillfully crafted blend of slow flow, strength training, and breath work. The focus is on engaging the deep core, including each layer of the abdominals, the back, and the pelvic floor. Every class is different. The sequence gradually builds to an apex pose, which might be a balancing pose, an inversion, or a back bend. You'll learn challenging new poses that are taught in a very approachable way. Liya uses her knowledge of the human body as a doctor and acupuncturist in her cueing and caring hands-on assists.
Breathe deeper. Stand tall. Walk out of this class feeling both stronger and more relaxed.
Please see the studio websites for details on class rates. Firelight has a wonderful Groupon deal, and both studios participate in Class Pass.
Feedback from students:
"I took a fantastic class with Liya a couple years ago, and I still remember it to this day. Liya was compassionate and attentive to each of our needs, yet gently encouraged us to explore our limits. We did several sequences and asanas that I had never done before and haven't encountered in a class since! More creative and varied than your typical vinyasa class."

Individual Yoga & Meditation Instruction
Even more than teaching group classes, Liya's passion is giving caring and highly effective one-on-one instruction. She tailors each class to the needs of that particular student for an individualized experience. Whether you are recovering from an injury, would like to up-level your home practice, or feel intimidated to join a group class, private yoga instruction can be extremely helpful.

"I feel so lucky that Liya was part of our team to bring a new layer of wellness to our patients and employees. Many of the people I hired her to teach to had not exercised in years because of their chronic medical conditions, and they feared that they would not be able to do yoga. Liya's knowledge of the whole person and her gentle teaching style quickly erased their fears. I could see the hope return to their eyes. I believe that hope is an essential component of developing true wellness."
